I know, I know. It's been forever since I've posted. Coverage of the hurricane season has kept me busy. And I've been trying to take a few long weekends. On a recent Monday, I was home sitting on the couch and thought, "i feel weird. What is this feeling? i don't quite recognize it. OH! I think I feel relaxed." Then I got freaked out and felt like I had to do something. But it was nice to recognize the feeling for a fleeting moment.
It came back this past weekend, when Sweets and I went to the Catskills for a romantic mini break holiday. We stayed in a fantastic inn The Phoenica Belle and saw some movies at the Woodstock Film Festival. The best film we saw was Transamerica. Felicity Huffman shines as Bree, a preoperative transsexual that embarks on a personal journey as well as a road trip in the week preceding her operation. I think I hear some Oscar nominations.... We also saw Mutual Appreciation, Nine Lives and Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic.
I promise, I'll be back to posting more regularly soon. Until then, amuse yourself with the new EP, East Grand Blues by The Greenhornes. It's been rocking my world like I'm in the "Shelter of Your Arms."
