This post was going to be about the CMJ shows I saw in the past few nights but a mindless list of the cds I picked up in San Francisco will be standing in this evening. Grams is back in the hospital, this time with congestive heart failure. The situation does not look promising. I swing between practical thoughts and hysterical outbursts. Lists make things better. Order is what I need right now. It's times like these that make a control freak like me go bonkers. Thus, a list of my new cds. All cds purchased at Amoeba Music unless noted with an asterick. Those were from Rasputin Records. I also bought a t-shirt at each store. I've been sick with jealousy over Cyndemouse's Amoeba t-shirt. Now I have my own. In a different style, of course. I bought so many cd's at Amoeba; the clerk lavished me with free bumper stickers to spread the gospel. Blanche-If We Cant Trust the Doctors Blonde Redhead-Misery Is a Butterfly The Busy Signals-Pure Energy The Buzzcocks-Operators Manual * The Catheters-Howling-It Grows and Grows!!! Crowded House-Crowded House * Crowded House-Woodface * The Damnwells-Bastards of the Beat The Features-The Beginning Tim Finn- Before and After John Wesley Harding-why we fight John Wesley Harding-Here Comes the Groom Har Mar Superstar-The Handler * The Hentchmen-FormFollowsFunction Mascott-Dreamers Book The Orphins-Drowning Cupid The Star Spangles-Bazooka!!! The The-Soul Mining * Chris von Sneidern-Headful of Words * The Waxwings-Lets Make Our Descent Paul Westerberg-14 Songs Paul Westerberg-Eventually With the exception of Har Mar Superstar, all the discs were used or clearance. Amoeba has an insane amount of clearance for $1.99. I'm talking totally new bands that are hot or by every estimation will be. So don't worry, I didn't break the bank on this buying trip. Now I'll go back to worrying about my Grams.
