I made it to California. The first portion of my trip was in San Jose. It was a whirlwind of seminars at the SND Conference. From this time, I learned a few things. 1. Designers dress better than photographers 2. Designers drink alot. But probably not as much as photographers 3. Modular design is out. Doglegs are in. 4. I'm still psyched about being a visual journalist Most of my time there was uneventful and since the clock is ticking at the internet cafe, my observations will have to wait. I'll close with a poem I wrote while having a solitary lunch there. The plans made to meet late the night before never came to fruition.
This town is so quiet. I wish my heart could be as still It jerks like a shimmering carp drawn from its placid pool by an echo of summer stars
Flying through space...and time landing in this city of concrete and palms
without a star in sight
I haven't written a poem in a loooong time. Someone recently told me I'm full of honesty and angst. Guess this is proof. lol.
