I don't know about you but as summer begins to wind down, my mind starts to turn to fashion for fall. The urge to bring home the fashion tomes, fragrant with perfume cards, heavy with promises of good timews if you choose the right look, fragrant with perfume cards. Two items moved on the news wires today of interest. In Iran, women were warned not to "dress like models" in skimpy headscarves and three quarter length outfits. Punishment for non-compliance includes jail time and fines. Ouch. In Japan, a company called Madre is marketing stab proof jackets for the kiddies. A few months ago, a Japanese school girl attacked her classmates. When I discussed the story with Dope, who taught English in Japan for several years, he revealed stabbing is actually a real problem there. Will stab proof jackets solve the problem? I'm not so sure about that. Owning one of the jackets that come in a array of colors and custom embroidery would make me feel pretty rad. Actually, I'm totally sweating picking up something made by HAEFTLING, a line handcrafted by German inmates. I could overcome my aversion to stripes for one of their shirts. In honor of this week's Perseid meteor shower, I bought a cute hoodie with a big star on the front. It's navy with turquoise top stiching and star.
